The interface gives access to libraries, projects, collections, Archive Center, Integrity Center, Restore Center, Settings, Documentation, License, and About.

Since 2.0, “Library” names the container — the workspace.obf document and its folder — and “Photos” names the grid of photographs. The words “workspace” and “photo library” are gone; the file format is unchanged.

The Go menu

Every destination lives in the Go menu, which replaced the ten-icon footer rail in the sidebar and three of its rows (Agents, Review, People).

The seven most travelled destinations sit at the top level; the specialist groups — catalogue raisonné, preservation, libraries, diagnostics — are submenus named after the sidebar’s own sections, so the two surfaces teach each other. Shortcuts keep working from inside a submenu.

Destinations outside your plan do not appear in the menu, just as they do not appear in the sidebar. A destination whose licence has expired or been revoked, however, stays visible with a padlock: you had it yesterday, and making it vanish would read as the application having lost your work. The screen then names the cause and offers the way out.

Inspector

The inspector shows metadata, relationships, versions, collection membership, and contextual actions for selected assets.

Status

Status areas report application version, recent files, sync state, and operation state.

Storage media

Since 2.0.5, the settings hold a list of your storage media with their replacement deadlines: a name, a tier (N1 working storage, N2 local archive, N3 offsite copy), a kind, a commissioning date and a location. A medium nearing the end of its service life rises into the Health screen’s “to handle” list.

Integrity checks tell you a file is intact; they say nothing about the age of the disk holding it. These two facts describe different risks — one a corruption that has already happened, the other the one that is coming.
